X-Ray

X-Ray

X-rays are a type of high-energy radiation. An X-ray machine can produce short bursts of X-rays, to view bones and internal organs.
The rays pass easily through fluids and soft tissues of the body. However, dense tissue such as bone will block some of the X-rays. An ordinary X-ray is a relatively quick to perform. It may be all that is needed to diagnose or assess various problems.
X-rays are also commonly done in conjunction with another exam such as an Ultrasound so that your doctor may get a clear idea of what is going on in the area of concern.
Your Chiropractor, Physiotherapist or Podiatrist may also request specific X-rays to offer you optimal care.
